Of Silver Spring, MD. On Thursday, March 26, 2015. Beloved wife of John William Rodgers; mother of Virginia Mae Rodgers and Deborah Ann Norris; grandmother of Patrick and Laura Norris; great-grandmother of Preslee Ann-Elizabeth Norris and Camden John Norris; sister of the late Helen Muskett and Harry Hantzes; daughter of the late Nicholas and Virginia Hantzes. Born and raised in Mt. Carmel, PA, Olympia and John were childhood sweethearts, married for 64 years, living a full and active life until Olympia’s first stroke in 2008. She had retired from the National Education Association in December 1994. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in the Chapel on the grounds of Oakdale Emory Methodist Church, Olney, MD. Inurnment, Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to a charity of one’s choice in Olympia’s honor.
