JACQUELYN ANN WENDAL
Jacquelyn Ann Wendal died on 18 January, 2016, at age 77, after a long illness. Following her graduation from Montgomery Blair High School in 1956, she began working for the Department of Defense. She later worked for the International Monetary Fund, The Barton, Duer, and Koch Paper Company, and part-time at the Watergate Apartments.
Jacquelyn loved live theater, with ballet and musicals being her favorites. For many years, she volunteered at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which provided her the opportunity to see many productions there. She traveled numerous times to New York City to visit family and friends, and never missed the opportunity to take in a show or two while there. Other travels took her to Panama, France, Italy, and England. Besides travel and the theater, Jacquelyn loved her family, cooking and playing games, often combining all three by hosting family dinners where the evenings would be rounded out with many games of cards and loads of laughter.
She is survived by one sister, Veralyn W. Ford; two brothers, Charles V. and George E. Wendal, Jr., his wife Clare Wendal; eight nieces and nephews, nine great nieces and nephews, and six great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved and who will miss her greatly.
Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) on Sunday, April 17 from 2 to 4 pm.
