Meghan O’Callaghan Abell (Age 38)
Of Washington, DC, having endured breast cancer for nearly two years, passed from this life to the next on Saturday, August 27, 2016, while in the arms of her loving parents and siblings.
Meghan attended Blessed Sacrament School and was a graduate of Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart and the University of Maryland University College. She assisted the disabled, elderly, and mentally infirm at various facilities during her career and enjoyed friendships with nearly all she met—such clear evidence of her sweet and accepting disposition.
Meghan is survived by her parents, Christopher and Patricia Abell; her older sisters Alicia (Will) and Hilary (William) and her younger brother Christopher, Jr. In addition, she leaves behind her adoring nieces and nephews: Madeline, Jack, Lucy and Lila Peppo; and Nate, Nell, and Connor Bednarz.
A wake for Meghan will be held at the chapel of Mater Dei School, 9600 Seven Locks Road, Bethesda, MD 20817 on Tuesday, August 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Western Ave. at Quesada St. NW, Washington, DC 20015 on Wednesday, August 31 at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Potomac, MD.
