DONNA MARIE NOSBAUM
Donna Marie Nosbaum, 96, died Monday, January 16, 2017, in Silver Spring of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond George Nosbaum and is survived by loving sons, Raymond Bernard Nosbaum and Donald William Nosbaum and grandchildren, Jeffrey Noel-Nosbaum, Carrie Noel-Nosbaum and Miguel Noel-Nosbaum. Donna was born on April 1, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to Daniel Smith and Margaret “Mabel” Smith (Maiden name, O’Donnel). She married Ray G. Nosbaum on July 17, 1943 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Chicago, Illinois. During most of her working life, Donna was a grade school teacher. She was a devout Catholic and was affiliated with Holy Family Catholic Community in the Northwestern Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois when she lived with and was cared for by her younger son, Don. During her final years, she lived with her older son, Ray and was cared for by him and his wife, Ruth Noel. She attended St. Camillus Catholic Church as well as the churches of her grandchildren and her daughter-in-law. Through the challenges of illness, Donna maintained a positive disposition. She made friends easily and will be missed by them as well as her extended family. A viewing will be held at Collins Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 18, from 7 to 9 PM with Mass at Saint Camillus on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 10 AM. She will be laid to rest at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois with a service in the chapel on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Relief Services.
