ANTHONY MICHAEL CAMARANO
On Wednesday, August 1, 2012 of Silver Spring, MD. Anthony Michael Camarano was born May 5, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY. He attended St. Cecelia’s school until eighth grade. When his family moved to Queens, NY, he attended Grover Cleveland High School. In 1944, he had his 18th birthday in May; he graduated high school in June: by July 4th he was in the United States Navy. His typing skills were noticed, and he was sent to Radio School. He became the Radio Man on a PT boat in the South Pacific. On the G.I. Bill he attended Michigan State University. He studied forestry and hand a long career in the wood products industry. He married Barbara Rinehart the day after graduation. They travelled to Texas and Georgia for training in the pressure-treated lumber business and spent the rest of their 61 years together in Maryland. He was predeceased by son Philip and granddaughter Christina. He is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters Carol Erhard, Regina Robinson, Loretta Camarano and Maria Camarano; sons Michael, Joseph and John. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Father Rosensteel Council #2169 and of the Resurrection Church in Burtonsville, MD. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m. (Rosary at 3 p.m.) and 7 to 9 p.m.; and on Monday, August 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Resurrection Church at Riderwood Village, 3110 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904, where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Entombment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
