Of McLean, VA, died in San Diego, CA on Monday March 3, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Virginia Maribee Myers Mermel; father of M. Myers Mermel of New York, NY and Dr. Cecilia Maribee MacCallum of Lynchburg, VA. Grandfather of Grace, Matthew, Lilly, John and Elizabeth; brother of Yvonne Rodler and Marilyn Disbrow. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Walker Chapel United Methodist Church, 4102 N. Glebe Road, Arlington VA. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Dr. John F. Mermel Memorial Fund, at the School of Medicine at George Washington University, Attn: M.T.
