(Linda) Purbaugh and Cheryl Ann (Howie) Wendt; grandfather of Josh Joyner, Mihail, Parascovia, Emma, Christian and Pavel Wendt; brother of Arlene Payne, and the late Charles, Wilma, Donald and Dorlis.He shined his lights on people, so the broadcast world could see – mother, bishops, presidents and politicians. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) Sunday from 3-5 pm and the Crypt Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Michigan Avenue, NE, Washington, DC 20017. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 9:30-10:30 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
